Today we are very excited to bring to you the launch of our new roller blinds range.
The idea of roller blinds had been in the back of our minds for some time, just bubbling away and when we decided to revamp our whole apartment they very quickly became a possibility. Thanks to a fantastic reaction on social media they are now a reality.
Back in January our very lovely landlord agreed to allow us to decorate our apartment which is situated above our gallery & shop. We sold our house several years back to fund our business dreams of running our creative business while living in the countryside, but the biggest downside for me has always been not being able to decorate our home how we wanted.
So with a green light from our landlord, out came the paint charts, many hours lost on Pinterest and a decision to go to the dark side. We are very lucky our room is flooded with natural light, and as we wanted to add some drama to this room we knew we could be brave with a dark colour and opted for Farrow & ball's Downpipe.
I had always fancied the idea of white shutters against the dark walls but with two huge windows to contend with in our sitting room plus the fact we were after all, renting, the estimates of £5,000 plus just seemed a tad ridiculous.
Having had full length curtains before - which not only blocked the heat from the radiators but always felt as if they were just in the way, we wanted something simple and sleek. So we explored the idea of roller blinds again
One of my personal favourite designs from our collection is Derwent Trees for several reasons. It's one of our favourite places to explore in the Peak District, we both love trees, this design was taken from a fantastic picture taken by Garry and as I'm a huge fan of monochrome - it seemed to be the perfect choice for our first blinds.
And at night the design becomes more solid monochrome
Our blinds feature a chrome pull chain which comes as standard but you have the option to be motorise your blinds, for an extra sleek finish. There is no chain hanging with the motorised blind making it an ideal solution if child safety is a requirement in your home.
All our standard chain pull operated blinds come with child safety fittings and we strongly advised you to install these.
Roller blinds can be fitted inside or outside the window frame - this is really a personal preference. We would however recommend having your blinds fitted outside the window if you have tilting window openings.
Most of our designs are available to buy as roller blinds now and a few more will be added to the collection at a later date. There are more details on the Roller Blinds page, including a simple step by step measuring guide.
Our blinds are completely bespoke and made to measure to fit your windows. Blinds are made in the UK, in fact our manufacturer is based just 12 miles from Hayfield in Denton, Manchester - we like to keep it local!
Banish the boring plain roller blinds we say, so if you fancy some bright colours or bold patterns at your windows then check out the new range HERE
Have a fantastic weekend
Bye for now
